There is no required textbook for the course.
Most of our readings will come from the Web.
This course is about tools and techniques that help construct, maintain,
and enhance software.
Some of the topics likely to be covered include:
-
Bash commands and shell scripting.
See
What is Bash? for more information
(and a sample of my sense of humor).
-
Maybe
Expect or Pexpect
(Knowing Python is helpful but not a prerequisite.)
-
Probably some
Version Control (e.g., RCS or Mercurial)
-
Hopefully some
Software Testing material
-
Topics suggested by student interest.
