What is Bash?
Well....NOT this
Bash is the default shell on Linux and OS X.
It acts as a command processor, where it causes actions
to occur based on what commands a user had typed.
Importantly, you can program in Bash. These programs
are called scripts. As part of this course,
we will learn how to write Bash scripts.
To learn more in the interim, take a peek at the
Wikipedia
article on Bash.
